About

About me

Hi, I'm Kaif.

I'm an embedded systems engineer from Pakistan. I write firmware, build edge-AI products and lead the teams that ship them. I've been working since college, and I haven't really stopped.

  1. College

My first real job wasn't in engineering at all. In college I worked as a video editor, cutting footage for clients with tools I'd taught myself. It was the first time I saw that a skill you pick up late at night can turn into actual paid work.

  2. University

At university I kept that going. I did a short stint in digital marketing for some quick money, and I tutored science and engineering subjects privately. Tutoring taught me more than I expected: if I can't explain something simply, I don't really understand it yet. It also showed me I'm good at communicating, and I've leaned on that ever since, with clients, with teams and on stage, wherever explaining things clearly gives me an edge.

Electronics engineering at UET Taxila is where things clicked. I got hooked on signal processing and machine learning, did my final-year research on estimating blood glucose from a PPG signal, and spent my evenings running IEEE chapters, organising events and writing grant proposals. I also spent some time on the hardware side, with a chip-design internship at the National Institute of Electronics.

  3. 2025 – now

After graduating I joined MachaDev as a trainee embedded engineer and left as its firmware team lead. At Geocell I started on AI and ML and became a technical project manager, shipping telecom-monitoring and IoT products with a team of five. Today I'm an embedded systems engineer at ChipMango in Lahore, working on firmware and sensors for medical wearables.

Through 2025 and 2026 I've also trained students and engineers in embedded systems and AI, and supervised the final-year project of UET Taxila's 2022–26 Electronics Engineering batch, who took my PPG glucose research further into a hardware implementation for real-world use.

  4. Next

I've been hustling in one form or another since college, and I like it that way. I look up to the people in my space who started with a bench, a laptop and an idea and turned it into a company. That's the plan for me too: build my own product one day, and scale it.

So I keep learning outside work. Right now that's web and mobile app development, and the less glamorous part that comes after: deployment and scaling. This website is part of that.

  5. Off the clock

From school through college I was a hardcore gamer: CS:GO, Valorant, Fortnite, PUBG, Call of Duty, GTA V and plenty of others, with thousands of hours logged across them.

I watch a lot of films and series. My favourite film is Green Book, and my favourite series is Game of Thrones. For music, I'm a Filthy Frank fan, and I like digging through Atlanta's underground trap scene.

At university I also taught myself music production in FL Studio, purely as a hobby.

And I love travelling: new places, new people, new ways of doing things.

  6. Every day

I have a curious mind. Most days I end up exploring some new idea, tool or rabbit hole, and I'll happily discuss almost anything with almost anyone. If you want to talk tech, an idea or a project, let's talk.
